Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service apply to Olive Word, a mobile application published by Olive Branch Global LLC (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By downloading, installing, or using Olive Word (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
Description of Service
Olive Word is a Bible study application that provides access to the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible, with additional translations available to stream or download. The App includes study tools, note-taking, reading plans, hymns, cloud sync, subscription tiers, AI-powered study features, and sermon preparation tools.
The App is designed for personal, non-commercial Bible study use.
User Accounts
Creating an account is optional. The App functions fully offline without an account. If you choose to create an account:
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
- You are responsible for all activity under your account
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account
- You may delete your account at any time through the App settings
Data Sync
If you create an account, your annotations (bookmarks, highlights, notes, reading positions, reading plans, verse images, and sermons) are synced to our cloud servers. Sync occurs automatically when you are signed in.
You can delete your account and all associated server-side data at any time through Settings. Server data is removed within 24 hours of account deletion.
Subscriptions & Purchases
Olive Word offers optional premium features through in-app subscriptions. Core Bible reading, bookmarking, highlighting, and note-taking are free and always will be.
Olive Word offers the following subscription tiers:
- Free: Bible reading, bookmarks, highlights, notes, verse images, reading plans, hymns, and 3 AI study uses
- Premium: Unlimited AI study features (explanations, cross-references, word studies, devotionals, and more)
- Pastor: All Premium features plus sermon outline generator, discussion questions generator, illustration finder, cross-text sermon builder, and sermon series planner
Prices are determined by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and may vary by region.
Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Subscription management and cancellation are handled by the respective app store according to their policies. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google Play — we are not able to issue refunds directly. Subscription disputes regarding charges should be directed to the app store that processed the payment.
- Monthly and annual subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your device settings
- Free trial periods, if offered, convert to paid subscriptions unless cancelled before the trial ends
Bible Text
Olive Word ships with the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible, which is in the public domain in most countries. Rights in the Authorized (King James) Version in the United Kingdom are vested in the Crown. Additional Bible translations in 1,500+ languages are available to browse, stream, or download through the Faith Comes By Hearing (FCBH) Bible Brain API, subject to their respective copyright and usage terms.
Streaming Bible translations requires an internet connection. Downloaded translations are stored locally on your device.
We do not modify, abridge, or alter Scripture in any way.
Hymns Content
The hymns included in the App are public domain works whose copyrights have expired. They are provided for personal worship and study.
AI-Powered Features
The App includes AI-powered study tools (explanations, cross-references, word studies, devotionals, sermon outlines, and more). These features are provided as study aids and should not be considered authoritative theological commentary.
When you use AI features, Bible verse text and your study query are transmitted to our servers for processing. Your personal data (name, email, notes) is not included in AI requests.
- AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies
- AI responses are for personal study and should be verified against Scripture
- AI features require an internet connection
- AI features are subject to usage limits and availability
- We reserve the right to modify, limit, or discontinue AI features at any time
Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services to provide its features: Supabase (data infrastructure), Anthropic (AI processing), RevenueCat (subscription management), Faith Comes By Hearing / Bible Brain (Bible text and audio), TalkingBibles (voice-only audio narration), Sentry (crash reporting), and Google and Apple (authentication).
Each service operates under its own privacy policy and terms of service. Our use of these services is described in detail in our Privacy Policy.
User-Generated Content
You retain ownership of all content you create in the App, including notes, sermon outlines, and verse art images. This content is stored locally on your device and, if you opt in, synced to your account.
You are solely responsible for the content you create within the App.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the App
- Interfere with or disrupt the App or its servers
- Use automated systems to access the App in a manner that exceeds reasonable use
- Resell or redistribute the App or its content
Account Suspension & Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, including repeated abuse of automated systems, attempts to bypass subscription requirements, or fraudulent activity.
In the event of termination, you retain access to all locally stored data on your device. Server-side data may be deleted at our discretion. Active subscriptions will continue to bill through their normal cycle unless cancelled through your app store.
Service Availability
We strive to maintain consistent service availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. The App may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, upgrades, network issues, or factors beyond our control. We are not liable for any inconvenience caused by service interruptions.
Limitation of Liability
Olive Word is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
Copyright Complaints
If you believe content in the App infringes your copyright, please contact us at info@olivebranchglobal.net with a description of the copyrighted work, the allegedly infringing material, your contact information, and a statement of good faith belief that the use is not authorized.
We will respond to valid DMCA notices in accordance with applicable law.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming.
Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding your use of the App.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be reflected with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
